The aim of the project was the lighting of the frescoed ceilings and the wooden coffered ceilings of the historical building, hiding the lighting fixtures by integrating them into the environment.
In some rooms, the need to illuminate wide vaults, with frames close to the ceilings, has required the use of a grazing light, able to reach uniformly all the surface of the ceiling.
In the rooms with wooden coffered ceilings, there was the need to illuminate the ceiling with few points of support at disposal, without illuminating the lateral walls. A custom solution was designed to be able to best direct the light without any lateral light dispersion.
For the illumination of the Emperor’s Court, the Court of Cosimo I, the Monumental Staircase and the Lounge, Microdrywall Frame was installed on lateral frames.
For the illumination of the Rooms 103 and 104, Microdrywall Grazing was installed on the lateral frames. Thanks to its grazing light, it’s able to light with uniform way all the surfaces of the ceilings.
For the illumination of the Rooms 101 and 102, Microdrywall Frame was customized with external winglets, to avoid lateral light dispersion.
